When a call ends, I go over what was said and decide: either I hand the follow-up to your team, or I close the conversation without disturbing you. You tell me how to choose in Settings → Telephone → Call instructions, After the call tab.
Set what I do after the call#
- Open Settings → Telephone → Call instructions, then the After the call tab.
- In Hand off to team when, write the cases where your team should take over.
- In Close automatically when, write the cases where I can close without alerting anyone.
- In Calls without contact speech, choose what I do when the caller leaves nothing. By default: Let extraction decide, meaning I decide based on the call.
- Click Save in this tab.
For example:
Field | Example |
|---|---|
Hand off to team when | The caller wants to make an offer, complains, or asks for a callback from an agent. |
Close automatically when | The caller dialled the wrong number, or only wanted the agency's address and got it. |
This is not a live transfer#
Hand off to team when acts after the call: the conversation is handed to the team for follow-up. For me to pass the caller to a colleague during the call, see have a call transferred to a colleague. In that case, I leave the line as soon as the call is passed: if your colleague does not pick up, the call ends, unless their phone has a voicemail or forwarding.
Good to know#
- These rules apply to the phone. For WhatsApp, email and the website chat, the same logic is set in Settings → Messaging → Messaging instructions, Conversation exit rules card.
- A change applies to the next calls, not to calls already finished.
- To find where each setting is, see where to edit my instructions.
